View from the apartment in Val d'Isère. It snowed almost every day that we were there. Skiing conditions were great, except that I found it disorienting to ski while it was snowing. It was hard to distinguish the snow from the sky and it felt like I was floating in an infinite field of white.

What a contrast to my visit from 2 years ago. I don't have any pictures of Val D' Isere then, but here's a picture of Tignes, just below.

That must be Lac du Chevril in the foreground of your photo. Lovely shot! That drive past the lake is beautiful.

The first time I went to Val D'Isère, I also skied in Tignes. The skiing in both areas is excellent.

I'd very much like to go hiking and backpacking in that area as well; it's a fantastic vacation spot, winter or summer!
